West Gippsland Healthcare Group has announced new appointments to its Obstetrics team which provides care for women and their babies.
Dr Warrick Pill has taken up the position of Clinical Lead for Obstetrics and Dr Carolyn Wilde is Clinical Lead for Gynaecology.

The appointments follow the resignation of long serving Obstetrician Dr David Simon who will officially depart WGHG in March after 20 years of service.

Dr Simon was recently awarded a Life Governorship by WGHG for his outstanding contribution to healthcare.

WGHG Chief Executive Officer, Dan Weeks, said the new team was well placed to further build Obstetrics and Gynaecology care offered by the West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

Dr Warrick Pill is dual qualified as a Physiotherapist and Obstetrics and Gynaecology consultant (O&G) and has been working with WGHG since 2015. Dr Wilde has been with WGHG as a consultant since 2013.

Two new consultants, Dr Hayley Messenger and Dr Alexander Bonner are also set to join the team in February.

The team is supported by Dr Rupert Sherwood and Dr Geoff Edwards who have been engaged to provide senior mentorship.

Appointed as Head of Gynaecology at Western Health, and former president of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Dr Sherwood has nearly 20 years of experience as an O&G Consultant and over 40 years as a medical practitioner. Dr Geoff Edwards has over 30 years of experience as an O&G Consultant and over 40 years as a medical practitioner.

WGHG’s Obstetrics team is also supported by GP Obstetricians who work in local practices and provide services to support the WGHG program.
